Mothers began in 2013 as the solo project of Athens, Georgia-based visual artist Kristine Leschper while she studied printmaking at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Now a quartet, their debut album When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired, released via Grand Jury Music and Wichita Recordings, has earned the young band high praise from the press, including from NPR Music ( First Listen ), The New York Times, Pitchfork, The Guardian, NME ( Radar ), and Q Magazine, among many others, while the band themselves have been included on numerous Musicians to know lists for 2016 including from Stereogum, Vulture, Spotify, Paper Magazine and others. Comprised of eight original songs - the majority of which were written while Leschper was finishing art school in early 2014 - Mothers debut LP is an introduction to the foundations of the young band, a snapshot of a particular period of their genesis that maps both where they began and where they are heading.

Our Serving Our Generation Event for January will be held on Saturday, January 21st from 9 AM to 12 PM. We ll be working at the Seven Homes Foster Care and Adoption Agency to create a kid-friendly room for Foster Children to enjoy while having their weekly visitation with their birth parents. Painting is on the list of skills needed for this task. Gently used toys and books would also be welcomed. He will give two talks - What Difference Does Prayer Make? and Praying God s Word. At 6:00 pm, we will break and have a supper of pizza and Caesar salad. Back by popular demand, Bookmarks will present our 5th Annual Movable Feast featuring 25 authors from across the country. Every table will hear from 10 authors for 10 minutes each. Opportunities for informal discussion with all the authors will begin at 2 p.m. when doors open, and will also follow the Movable Feast at 5 p.m., along with book sales and booksignings. Light refreshments and Raffaldini Wine will be served. Admission is by ticket only: General Admission tickets are $45 each (includes tax and service fee) General Admission tickets for a table of 8 are $320 per table (includes tax and service fee) Sponsored tables of 8 are $500 per table.
